David Cattell
BA (Hons) Dip Arch (Hull) RIBA AABC
David attended Plymouth and Hull Schools of Architecture and was elected a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1998. He is also included on the Register of Architects Accredited in Building Conservation. David became a Director of Rodney Melville and Partners in 2015.
David has wide experience in both historic building work and new design on a number of projects, for clients ranging from the National Trust through to local authorities, private individuals and organisations. He has a particular interest in new uses for existing buildings and re-establishing social environments within redundant buildings.
Specialist areas of work include:
- New uses for historic buildings
- Managing large complex projects and teams
- Grant funded projects
- Resolving complex Listed Building and Scheduled Monument issues
- Access for all
David leads on the Practice’s Quality Assurance and Environmental ISO accreditation. He is a member of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings and an affiliate member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation.
