Grade I listed Tyntesfield House and its estate were built in the 19th century for William Gibbs, a local entrepreneur. Exquisitely designed in full-blooded Gothic Revival style it is set in remarkably intact mid-Victorian pleasure grounds.
Rodney Melville and Partners were appointed lead consultant and architect for the repairs to the House. The HLF funded works included the repair of the external fabric and repairs to the principal rooms together with the provision of new services installations, improved access, fire management and new staff facilities.
