The Mansion House, York is the United Kingdom’s first purpose built Mayoral residence and a significant example of an early-mid Georgian town house.
The majority of the Grade I Listed Mansion House was completed in 1725. The building houses a very important collection of civic regalia, gold, silver, paintings and furniture.
Rodney Melville and Partners are part of a team responsible for the Heritage Lottery Fund Round 2 bid to restore the 18th century kitchens and develop an integrated environmental and conservation plan for the structure. The practice have carried out a fabric condition survey, prepared a management and maintenance plan, overseen the production of the conservation management plan and advised on the project team’s proposals.
